Located at the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District, Provocateur offers an exclusive and intimate setting spread over two areas. The lounge area, known as Provocateur Café, is a garden space with a retractable glass roof that houses seating areas, a bar, and other unique design elements, such a floral swings and silver birch trees. The lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10pm to 4am; however, you can only gain access by getting a table reservation or being on the guest list. The nightclub offers lavish decor with black and purple as the dominant colors and one is sure to notice the 20-foot wide angel wings that hang above the bar. Inside, there are plenty of tables and banquettes, but be prepared to dish out some cash for them.
The music policy consists of house, and the club has been able to attract top DJs like Tiesto, Deadmau5 and Sebastian Ingrosso. The club is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but the door policy is very tight and selective; entry is typically restricted to those that are on the guest list or have made table reservations. So guys, be prepared to spend money or get on the guest list, or at the very least arrive a little early, otherwise entry might be difficult. As for the ladies, dress to impress or arrive early if you don’t have a reservation.
